A day living with the locals

Yesterday we spent the day in Kenton – walking around and exploring. We were on the beach at 7:30am and the weather was perfect blue skies and no wind. We walked along the different bays, climbing over dunes and down rocks. By 9:00am however the wind had kicked up so we headed into the thriving metropolis of Kentons main street.

The highlight of my day was realising that friends of ours have opened a bakery in Kenton. A bakery in Kenton – what a dream. We spent a lot of the day catching up with them – eating brownies and cinnamon buns while drinking coffee and watching the dynamic of how a local shop works. It was so wonderful to see how supported they are by the locals and watch them sell fresh breads, sweet, moist cupcakes and strong cheese.

It definitely refueled the fire of wanting to own a little coffee shop of my own – one day I will have one (hopefully run with my mom because she is an AMAZING cook) so for now this thought and dream is front and centre.

We then went to have lunch with them at their house – laughing, chatting and eating = perfect afternoon
